Biography

Dr. Ankit Mahindroo currently serves as Assistant Dean – Academic Operations and Assistant Professor – III at LM Thapar School of Management, Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Derabassi, Punjab. He holds a PhD in Management from Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala (2018), with his thesis focused on developing an Integrated Information Systems Framework for Enhancing Reverse Logistics Performance in Supply Chains. In addition, he is UGC-NET qualified in Management, and holds an MBA in Systems from IMT Ghaziabad (2008) and a BE in Industrial Engineering from TIET Patiala (2003).

With over 15 years of academic experience and 6 years of industry exposure, Dr. Mahindroo has played a vital role in teaching, research, and institution building. His administrative journey includes serving as Assistant Dean – Faculty Affairs & Academic Operations (2023–24), Chair – Academic Operations (2020–23), Chair – Assurance of Learning (2020–22), and Co-Chair of Information Systems & Business Analytics specialization. His responsibilities have spanned academic scheduling, course allocations, teaching load management, and quality assurance of learning outcomes. He has also been actively engaged in various committees including Senate, Deans Council, Student Faculty Council, Process Excellence, Faculty Recruitment, and Grade Moderation.

In his teaching career, he has handled courses such as Fundamentals of Business Analytics, Business Intelligence, Excel and Power BI Modelling, Managing Information for Business, E-Commerce Analytics, Project Management, and ERP Management. His research interests include Business Analytics, Reverse Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, Technology Acceptance Models, and Operations Management. He has published research articles in reputed journals including the Journal of Global Information Management, International Journal of Productivity and Performance Management, and International Journal of Logistics Systems and Management.

His research has also been presented in multiple national and international conferences, including the European Operations Management Association Conference (EurOMA), IIT Roorkee SOM Conference, ARC International Conference (Thailand), and World Conference on Information Technology (Barcelona). Dr. Mahindroo has also contributed significantly to organising academic and professional workshops.

He coordinated Excel Modelling workshops for students, faculty, and researchers, as well as Lean Six Sigma training programs. His global exposure includes participation in EduTech Asia (Singapore, 2019), the Entrepreneurship and 3D Printing program at the University of Groningen (Netherlands, 2018), Assurance of Learning Seminar by AACSB (Bangkok, 2017), and advanced research methodology workshops at Tel Aviv University (Israel, 2015). Beyond academics, he has demonstrated excellence in extracurriculars, including representing TIET in Chess at BITS Pilani and securing a scholarship for academic merit during his undergraduate studies. With his diverse background in academia, industry, and international collaborations, Dr. Ankit Mahindroo continues to contribute actively to the fields of management education, analytics, and supply chain research.
