(A)Candidates seeking admission to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) must have obtained (candidates who are in their final semester/year of the qualifying degree can also apply):
A post-graduate degree or equivalent (with a minimum CGPA of 6.00 on a 10 point scale or 55% marks in aggregate)
A Professional qualification (with a minimum CGPA of 6.00 on a 10 point scale or 55% marks in aggregate) or qualified CA / ICWA / CS/CFA
A four-year professional degree (BE/B. Tech degree or equivalent) with excellent academic record (minimum CGPA of 9.00 on 10 point scale or 80% marks in aggregate). Relaxation in CGPA to 7.00 on a 10-point scale, or in marks to 65%, for the minimum eligibility conditions may be permitted for these candidates who have a minimum of 3 years of professional and/or research experience in the area in which the admission is sought. These candidates have to take additional master level courses of 21 credits which they select from the courses offered in Year 1 of MBA Program.
(B) Candidates must have qualified NET/JRF (UGC/CSIR) or have a valid score in one of the six tests, namely CAT/GMAT/GRE/GATE/NMAT/XAT.

(B) Requirements: Course Work & Research Proposal
Every admitted candidate shall have to do course work which can span two or three years.
Every admitted candidate shall have to undergo for a total of 118 credit hours. The course work shall be of 48 credits and thesis work of 70 credits (1 credit hour = 15 Hours). The details are as follows:
48 credit hours course work
24 credit hours of core courses
12 credit hours of electives
12 credit hours of independent studies, electives, practice teaching to MBA students (second year) spread over a period of two to four years
70 credit hours of thesis research
Every candidate will be required to submit a research proposal to University Research Board (URB) within 18 months from the date of admission, duly recommended by the supervisor(s), after successful completion of 12 credits with a minimum CGPA of 7.0. However, an extension of six months may be granted by the competent authority. If the candidate fails to submit the proposal during this period including the extension period, her/his admission may be cancelled. In case the proposal is rejected by the University Research Board (URB), he/she may resubmit it within next six months starting the date of meeting of URB, failing which her/his admission will be cancelled.
If the candidate successfully completes 48 credits of PhD course work and meets minimum publishing requirements as per PhD academic regulations, then he/she can proceed for the submission process of PhD thesis.
(C) Duration
The candidate can submit his/her thesis to the Registrar within five years, but not earlier than three years from the date of his/her admission. However, two further extensions of one year each may be granted by the competent authority.
